Jawali, Aug. 2 -- In a dramatic incident early this morning, a tractor carrying four migrant labourers got stuck in the rapidly rising waters of Dehar Khad near Manpari in the Jawali sub-division of Himachal Pradesh. Thanks to the quick thinking and prompt response of local residents, a major tragedy was narrowly averted.

According to eyewitnesses, the tractor was engaged in mining activity when the water level of the khad suddenly surged due to ongoing heavy rains in the region. Despite the driver's repeated attempts to steer the vehicle out of the stream, the strong current overwhelmed the tractor, trapping it mid-stream with four labourers aboard.
