Ramgarh, Dec. 17 -- : At least four people were killed after a herd of wild elephants went on a rampage in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district, triggering public anger and a prolonged road blockade, officials said on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the West Bokaro police station area, where a herd moving through the forest zone entered human settlements late Tuesday night. According to officials, two women and two men were trampled to death in separate incidents.
Forest officials said the first death occurred near the Ara Kata Sarubera feeder around 4 pm, when a youth identified as Amit was attacked while attempting to take photographs of the elephants. Later in the night, the herd entered a residential locality near Ara Kata No. 4 road. Ami...
