Patna, March 16 -- Polling for five seats in the biennial Rajya Sabha elections in Bihar concluded peacefully at 4 PM on Monday, with four MLAs of the Grand Alliance (GA) abstaining from voting, potentially impacting the opposition's prospects in the contest.

Of the 243 MLAs, 239 Legislators exercised their franchise and the counting of votes would be done accordingly.

Voting, which began at 9 AM in the Bihar Legislative Assembly, witnessed participation from a total of 202 legislators from NDA camp. All MLAs of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) exercised their franchise, while four members of the Grand Alliance three from the Congress and one from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) stayed away from the polling process.
