Aizawl, July 21 -- In a move aimed at boosting agri-based industrial investment, Mizoram's Empowered Committee on Investment (ECoI), headed by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, today approved proposals from four companies keen on setting up ginger processing units in the state.

According to an official communique, the ECoI examined and accepted applications from firms based in Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan and Mizoram.

The proposals include investment commitments totalling over Rs 55 crore and the potential to generate employment for more than 370 people.
