Ghazipur (UP), May 21 -- Four youths, including two brothers, were electrocuted and three others were injured after they came into high tension electricity wire during a religious ceremony in Mardah area of Ghazipur district here in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, police sources said here.
Police sources said that the incident took place when Kashi Das Puja was being organised at the house of priest Surendra Yadav in Narwar village under Mardah police station on Wednesday morning.
"During preparations for the puja in the morning, a flag was being hoisted on a very long raw bamboo at the place of worship. While erecting the bamboo with the flag, it touched the 33,000 volt wire passing above," they said.
