Aizawl, Oct. 9 -- Four suspects have been arrested by the Lunglei District Police in connection with a highway robbery that took place on September 30, on the Lunglei-Silchar route.
The victims, Mongkhoisu, 62, from Prabrarang, Rakhine, Myanmar, and his local interpreter, Teatei Mong Tongchangya, 45, from Longpuighat, Lawngtlai district, were travelling in a Mahindra Pik-up Maxx (White) when they were intercepted by five masked individuals armed with pistols and knives on the highway between Zotuitlang and Haulawng.
The robbers stopped the vehicle, broke the windshield, and stole cash amounting to Rs 10 lakh, documents, a mobile phone, and Rs 10,000 from the victims respectively. The driver, Sujit Chakma, was also robbed of his mobile pho...
