Aizawl, Aug. 10 -- The Lengpui Airport Forum (LAF) has criticised the Mizoram government for its slow pace in preparing for the transfer of the state's only airport to the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and for its apparent neglect in upgrading the facility.
Lalthuamliana, one of the conveners of LAF, said that during a meeting in New Delhi on July 7 between Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma, Mizoram was instructed to send a draft agreement to the Ministry of Civil Aviation or the AAI Chairman. This was a necessary step to ensure that the matter would be forwarded to the Union Cabinet for approval.
