Lucknow, Dec. 18 -- The Yogi Adityanath government has assigned a major responsibility to former Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar six months after his retirement. Retired IPS officer Prashant Kumar has been appointed as Chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission.

Prashant Kumar will serve a three-year term as chairman. The commission is responsible for the recruitment of teachers in secondary and higher education institutions across Uttar Pradesh. Through this body, appointments for TGT, PGT, and assistant professor posts are conducted.
