Patna, Nov. 15 -- Former union Minister and senior BJP leader R.K. Singh on Saturday resigned from the primary membership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Singh apprised party state headquarters in-charge Arvind Sharma through a letter about his resignation. Singh said that he had already sent his resignation to BJP national president J.P. Nadda. In the letter he mentioned that when allegations regarding corruption and criminal backgrounds of some ministers were raised by another party, it damaged the BJP's image. He added that he had advised those leaders to clarify their positions in the interest of the party's reputation. He said that such advice did not amount to being anti-party.
