Chennai, Nov. 28 -- Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi
K Palaniswami's political assistant was arrested on charges of cheating
after taking money from a youth promising him government job.
Police sources said former CM's political G. Mani and K.Selvakumar,
who is a functionary of the AIADMK, had taken Rs 17 lakh from Tamil
Selvan from Neyveli, promising him a government job.
The duo failed to get him the job and returned only Rs four lakh to him
and threatened him for demanding the remaining amount.
Following this, Tamil Selvan preferred a complaint with the Salem District
Crime Branch police, who registered cases under Sec 120-B and 420 of
the IPC and arrested Mani from his Omalur residence today.
