Pathanamthitta (Kerala), Sept. 21 -- Former Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai will inaugurate the Sabarimala Samrakshana Sangamam, to be held at Pandalam on September 22 under the aegis of the Sabarimala Karma Samithi.
The event has assumed added importance following the Global Ayyappa Sangamam held at Pampa on yesterday and the Kerala High Court's suo motu intervention into the suspicious removal and smuggling of golden plates from the Dwarapalaka (gatekeeper) idols and pedestals at the hill shrine.
Revelations from the preliminary inquiry ordered by the High Court have left devotees deeply disturbed, with organisers of the Sangamam stressing that the sanctity of the temple must be protected.
