New Delhi, Feb. 15 -- Former Pro Vice-Chancellor of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) Prof Basir Ahmad Khan and former Registrar of Jamia Millia Islamia Hasib Ahmad have criticised the police action in Jamia Millia Islamia and detention of students' activists. In a joint statement issued here on Saturday, Prof Khan and Prof Ahmad took a strong exception to the earlier issued notification of Jamia authorities stating that no protests, dharnas and raising slogans against constitutional dignitaries shall be allowed on any part of the university campus and warning of disciplinary action given to students.
