Pathanamthitta, Dec. 29 -- The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the Sabarimala gold misappropriation case today arrested N. Vijayakumar, a former member of the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB).
Vijayakumar, who was a board member during the tenure of former TDB president A. Padmakumar, was taken into custody after he failed to appear for questioning despite being issued a notice by the SIT.
The investigation team proceeded with the arrest after his non-cooperation with the probe. Earlier, Vijayakumar had approached the Kollam Vigilance Court seeking anticipatory bail. However, the SIT arrested him in connection with two cases registered as part of the investigation into the alleged gold robbery.
