Seoul, May 2 -- Former South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo announced on Friday that he would run for president in June and pledged to introduce amendments to the country's constitution to reduce the presidential term.
On Thursday, Han announced his resignation as the country's acting president in order to be able to run in the presidential election, which is scheduled for June 3. Han is considered as the most promising candidate among those who could potentially compete against the Democratic Party's Lee Jae-myung.
