Nagpur, Oct. 2 -- Former President Ram Nath Kovind today warned that it was a mistake for educated and "good people" to stay away from politics, asserting that their absence allows unqualified individuals to rise to leadership positions.

He was addressing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh's (RSS) annual Vijayadashami programme at Reshimbagh in Nagpur, where he was invited as the chief guest.
