Bhubaneswar, Aug. 17 -- Leader of Opposition and BJD President Naveen Patnaik was admitted to a private hospital here on Sunday evening after suffering from dehydration. His condition is reported to be stable and he is responding well to treatment, according to a party release.
Hospital sources said Patnaik was admitted around 5:15 PM due to dehydration. Doctors have confirmed that his condition remains stable.
The former Chief Minister had undergone spinal surgery for cervical arthritis at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on June 22. He returned to Bhubaneswar on July 12.
Since his return, Patnaik has largely remained confined to his residence, Naveen Niwas, and has not been meeting party leaders.
