Shimla, Jan. 5 -- Former Kumarsen MLA Bhagat Ram Chauhan passed away after a prolonged illness, casting a pall of gloom across political and legal circles in Himachal Pradesh. He was widely respected for his principled public life and service to society.
Expressing deep grief, Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha Kuldeep Pathania, said that the state had lost a dedicated and promising leader whose contribution to public life would be remembered with respect.
In his condolence message, the Speaker recalled that Bhagat Ram Chauhan was first elected to the Legislative Assembly from the Kumarsen constituency in 1990 and remained popular for his approachable and affable nature.
