Kolkata, Nov. 3 -- Former Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee today returned to West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress after about seven years, along with his companion Baisakhi Banerjee.
Chatterjee had been a minister and member of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's so-called kitchen cabinet before a falling out with the party supremo in 2018.
The development comes days after Shovan Chatterjee was appointed chairman of the New Town Kolkata Development Authority (NKDA) on October 17, a couple of days post his meeting with Chief Minister Banerjee in Darjeeling.
Prior to this, Chatterjee had also held a three-hour meeting with TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on September 25.
