Bengaluru, Dec. 14 -- Former Karnataka legislator Dr Anjali Nimbalkar turned an ordinary flight into a life-saving mission when an American passenger suffered a medical emergency in mid-air.

The woman suddenly felt unwell, shivering and fainting, with her pulse disappearing. Nimbalkar, a doctor by training, sprang into action, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and staying by the patient's side throughout the flight, tending to her every need.

Upon landing in Delhi, the woman was rushed to a hospital by ambulance.
