Ranchi, Aug. 23 -- Former Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar has written to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman requesting the creation of a single compliance portal to integrate statutory filings related to income tax, GST and the Registrar of Companies (ROC).
Poddar said that under the current system, businesses are required to repeatedly enter the same data on different online platforms for each compliance, which not only raises costs but also forces them to engage multiple professionals such as chartered accountants, company secretaries and GST consultants. According to him, this duplication increases the chances of errors, discrepancies and penalties.
