Hyderabad, July 16 -- In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested former Engineer-in-Chief (ENC) of the Irrigation Department, Muralidhar Rao in a disproportionate assets case.

He was produced before the court and remanded in 14-day judicial custody. Rao was subsequently shifted to Chanchalguda Central Jail.

Simultaneous raids were carried out at Muralidhar Rao's residence in Banjara Hills (Telangana) and several other locations, including properties allegedly held in the names of his family members and benami associates.
