Lucknow, Jan. 10 -- Former IPS officer Amitabh Thakur was discharged from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) after his health condition was found to be stable.
Following his discharge, police escorted him from Lucknow to Deoria District Jail, officials confirmed on Saturday.
Thakur had been undergoing treatment for the past 24 hours in the Cardiology Department's Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at SGPGI.
A panel of senior doctors was constituted for his treatment. Several medical tests, including ECG, echocardiography, and important blood investigations, were conducted. After the reports indicated normal findings, doctors decided to discharge him on Friday evening.
