New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- A Special CBI Court in Ahmedabad has sentenced a former assistant manager of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to three years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 90,000 in a financial misappropriation case.
The court convicted Saji Sajeev, the then Assistant Manager (Finance) at IOCL's Rajkot Divisional Office. In its ruling, the court stated that the prosecution had successfully proven its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
The CBI registered the case in 2011 following a complaint from the Chief Vigilance Officer of IOCL in New Delhi. The complaint alleged that a financial misappropriation of Rs 18.90 lakh, which occurred between 2005 and 2008, had been committed by officials at the IOCL Rajkot office, as...
