Bengaluru, March 12 -- BJP MLA CN Ashwath Narayan on Thursday defended the conduct of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and sought to allay public fears over gas cylinder availability.
Addressing allegations of irregularities in the SIR process, he said, "Over the years, SIR has been conducted more than six or seven times, including during the Congress period. Do you think they committed fraud? Mallikarjun Kharge should answer this""Whenever SIR was conducted under Congress, was there any fraud? The Election Commission is an independent statutory authority. Each process has been thoroughly scrutinised, more than ever in history," he added.
