Dharamshala, Dec. 15 -- Former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister and former union Minister Shanta Kumar expressed serious concern over rising population, pollution, poverty and unemployment in the country, stating that Delhi, the capital of the world's largest democracy, has turned into a "toxic gas chamber."Addressing a gathering, Kumar said that not only Delhi but several Indian cities are increasingly becoming gas chambers, with poisonous air causing serious health issues, including cancer among children. Citing reports, he said that nearly 17 lakh people died in India in 2022 due to air pollution alone.
