Chalisgaon, Oct. 21 -- Former Chalisgaon MLA and State Vice President of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), Rajiv Deshmukh, passed away today after suffering a severe heart attack. His death leaves a void in the political landscape of Chalisgaon and the Jalgaon district.
Deshmukh served as the MLA for the Chalisgaon Assembly constituency from 2009 to 2014. During his tenure, he spearheaded several initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and public amenities in the region.
Prior to becoming MLA, he served as the Chairman of the Chalisgaon Municipal Council.
