Itanagar, Feb. 4 -- Former Arunachal Pradesh MLA Nima Tsering Khrimey passed away on Wednesday at the age of 79.

Born on January 1, 1947 at Rupa village in West Kameng district, Late Khrimey, before being elected as MLA, had served as Zilla Parishad Member upto 1979. He was elected to the State Legislative Assembly from undivided Dirang-Kalaktang constituency in 1980.

Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt General (Retd) KT Parnaik and Chief Minister Pema Khandu have expressed deep grief over the demise.

In his condolence message, the Governor said that Khrimey would be remembered as a gentle, humble and compassionate leader whose sincerity, dedication and unwavering commitment to public service earned him the respect and affection of all.
