Imphal, July 6 -- The formation of a popular ministry in Manipur faces hurdles from various quarters, and the BJP faces the possibility of inability to complete a full five-year term after getting an absolute majority for the first time in Manipur political history.
President's Rule was imposed on February 13, 2025, and it has to be extended every six months by both Houses of Parliament.
A delegation of BJP MLAs led by former Education Minister Th Radheshyam had earlier approached Governor AK Bhalla to immediately form a BJP-led government. He claimed support of 44 MLAs, and the leader would be chosen by the BJP High Command.
