Raigad, Sept. 19 -- Forest Department officials have apprehended five individuals allegedly involved in smuggling Khair (Acacia catechu) wood in Khalapur.
Acting on a tip-off, the Khalapur Forest Department set up a trap near Chavani village road in Umbre, Khalapur taluka.
Under the guidance of Forest Officer Rajendra Pawar, the authorities caught the tempo driver and four accomplices while they were loading Khair wood into the pickup vehicle.
