Lucknow, Nov. 12 -- All private hospitals in Lucknow have been instructed to immediately inform the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office whenever a foreign patient is admitted. Officials confirmed on Wednesday that the CMO office has issued official letters to all hospitals, directing strict compliance with this new rule.

The move comes as a significant number of patients, particularly from Nepal, seek medical treatment in the city through informal channels.

Currently, there is no centralized record of these patients, raising security concerns. Acting on state government directives, the new reporting system aims to enhance monitoring and safety.
