Chandigarh, Oct. 26 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has reportedly unearthed overseas property links of former Punjab DIG (Ropar Range) Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who was arrested recently in a bribery case.

According to official sources, Bhullar is believed to own two flats in Dubai and three in Canada. During his service, he is said to have visited Dubai around ten times. The CBI has seized his passport and is now verifying details of his foreign travels.

Investigators have also traced around 55 acres of land and 20 commercial shops in the Machhiwara area of Ludhiana, allegedly owned by Bhullar. The agency suspects that some of these properties might have been purchased through benami (proxy) names during his tenure.
