Chennai, Oct. 31 -- American auto major Ford Motor Company will invest Rs.3,250 crore at its Chennai plant for manufacturing engines in 2029, said the Tamil Nadu government and the company.
The company today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government in the presence of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin in the state secretariat.
According to the Industries Minister TRB. Rajaa, Ford will invest Rs. 3,250 crore and create over 600 new direct jobs as it restarts its Chennai facility with production of next-generation, all-new engines with advanced technology.
The company had earlier signed a Letter of Intent signed in September 2024 to restart manufacturing operations at its plant near here.
