Chennai, Oct. 31 -- Providing a major boost to Tamil Nadu's automotive sector, American auto major Ford Motor Company will invest Rs3,250 crore in its Chennai facility to manufacture next-generation engines beginning in 2029. The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the company and the Government of Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister MK Stalin at the State Secretariat today.

According to Industries Minister TRB Rajaa, the investment will create over 600 new direct jobs as Ford restarts operations at its Chennai plant with the production of advanced technology engines designed for the future of mobility.
