Belagavi, Nov. 3 -- Twelve students from the Morarji Desai Residential School in Hirekodi village of Chikkodi taluk, Belagavi district, were hospitalized after suffering from suspected food poisoning yesterday night.
According to police, the students complained of vomiting and stomach pain after having dinner at the school hostel. They were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Health officials confirmed that all the affected children are now in stable condition.
Preliminary reports suggest that the food served in the hostel dining hall might have been contaminated. Local authorities have collected food samples for testing, and an investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact cause.
