Tehran, July 29 -- Iranian intelligence has prevented the implementation of a plan by "monarchist oppositionists" supported by Israeli Secret Intelligence Service (Mossad), who intended to organize mass riots in Tehran after Israel's strike on Evin Prison in June, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry said.

In June, Iranian media reported that Israel had carried out attacks on some areas of Tehran, including in the northern part of the capital. The Tasnim news agency reported later that part of the prison's administrative building was destroyed, and a number of prison employees, prisoners and visitors were injured. A few days later, Iranian judicial spokesman Asghar Jahangir said 71 people were killed in the Israeli attack on Evin Prison.
