Patna, Dec. 24 -- Bihar Agriculture Minister Ram Kripal Yadav on Wednesday stressed the need for increasing the green vegetable production, saying it would boost the potential of the agriculture sector and bring prosperity to farmers of the state.

Addressing a meeting of all stakeholders to discuss the ways to increase green vegetable production in Bihar, Yadav said at present, the total vegetable production of the state was 170-180 lakhs metric tonnes per year and it was nine per cent of total production of the country.

The state government had fixed the target of increasing green vegetable production to 400 metric tonnes per year in Bihar, he added.
