New Delhi, Jan. 30 -- India and the World Bank took a significant step toward deepening their development partnership as Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Friday met World Bank Group President Ajay Banga in New Delhi, welcoming a new Country Partnership Framework (CPF) that aligns closely with the government's Viksit Bharat vision.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, the newly agreed CPF will guide World Bank Group engagement in India over the next five years, with a sharp focus on leveraging public resources to crowd in private capital, generating employment across rural and urban areas, and strengthening development projects through global knowledge and best practices.
