Rio De Janeiro, Sept. 26 -- Fluminense appointed Argentine Luis Zubeldia as its new manager, less than two days after parting ways with Renato Gaucho.
Zubeldia, 44, agreed to a deal that runs until December 2026, the Brazilian Serie A club said in a statement on its official website on Thursday.
"The coach will begin his work this Friday, when he will be presented and lead the squad in training," the statement read.
Renato tendered his resignation after a 1-1 home draw with Lanus on Tuesday, a result that eliminated Fluminense from the Copa Sudamericana.
