London, Sept. 28 -- English singer-songwriter Florence Welch has disclosed that she underwent emergency surgery after suffering a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in August 2023, an ordeal she described as "the closest I came to death".
In a candid interview with The Guardian, the Grammy-nominated artist recounted how she unknowingly took to the stage while experiencing severe internal bleeding. She was diagnosed with a ruptured fallopian tube after suffering a miscarriage, which required surgery "within the hour".
At the time, Welch, 39, cancelled some planned concerts, telling fans she was doing so for "reasons I don't really feel strong enough to go into yet".
