Chennai, June 3 -- Rich tributes were paid to DMK Patriarch and late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his 102nd birth anniversary, being celebrated as the Classical Language day, on Tuesday.

Chief Minister and DMK President M K Stalin led the state in paying floral tributes to his father and his mentor on the occasion.

Mr Stalin, accompanied by his Cabinet colleagues and senior leaders, including MPs, MLAs, district secretaries and Party functionaries and DMK cadres, paid floral tributes at the memorials of Mr Karunanidhi, a five time Chief Minister , who had never lost an election having contested for 13 times, and DMK Founder and stalwart C N Annadurai on the Marina Beach front to mark the occasion.
