Prayagraj, Aug. 2 -- Flood situation has worsened in the City of Sangam with waters entering several localities following swelling Ganga and Yamuna rivers on Saturday.
Both the Ganga and Yamuna rivers were above the danger mark and flood waters were flowing in urban areas like Ganganagar, Rajapur, Nevada, Kareli, Gausnagar and Karelabagh.
Almost all the roads and ground floor of the buildings were flooded with waters and heavy rains have made the situation more worse.
According to official so far, more than 500 people have been rescued by NDRF teams and taken to safer places.
The administration has set up camps for flood-affected people at many places, where they were given food and water as well as medicines.
