Patna, Aug. 3 -- Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today instructed the authorities to remain alert about rising river levels and complete necessary preparations.
While reviewing the rainfall situation in the state and the water levels of rivers, Kumar asked the authorities to ensure that all necessary preparations were completed as per the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in view of the incessant rains and rising water levels of rivers.
Kumar said that the ongoing rain was helping farmers with paddy transplantation.
The Chief Minister also inspected the preparations of the Disaster Management Department and reviewed the status of crop coverage across the state.
