Thiruvananthapuram, Nov. 19 -- Fights bound for Sri Lanka were diverted to Thiruvananthapuram International Airport in Kerala on Wednesday due to adverse weather in the island nation.

A SriLankan Airlines flight from Dammam and a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul safely landed at the airport in the morning. Airport officials confirmed that the flights will continue to Colombo once weather conditions improve.

Airport officials said a Turkish Airlines flight arriving from Istanbul and a SriLankan Airlines service from Dammam were rerouted after they were unable to land in Colombo due to poor visibility and inclement weather.
