Rio de Janeiro, Dec. 30 -- Flamengo has reached an agreement with Filipe Luis to extend the manager's contract for another two years, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Monday.

Luis, whose previous deal had been due to expire on December 31, signed a contract that runs until December 2027.

"The positive outcome was only possible because there was, on both sides, a genuine desire to continue the project, as well as a shared willingness to align interests and build a balanced and sustainable agreement that met the coach's expectations, while complying with the club's governance policies," football director Jose Boto said.
