Firozabad (UP) , Feb. 2 -- Acting on complaints, the district cyber police team arrested five youths involved in cheating people by creating fake loan applications.

The arrests were made on Monday following an investigation into a cyber fraud racket operating in the district.

Cyber police station in-charge Rajesh Kumar said the accused were running a gang that developed fake loan apps and used them to defraud unsuspecting users.

Based on complaints received on the government of India's Pratibimb portal, the police conducted raids and arrested five accused: Raghav, Rajnish, Sonu, Nilesh, and Pushpendra. One of their associates, Mahesh, a resident of Gurugram, is currently absconding.
