Chennai, May 17 -- A 5-year-old girl from Bangladesh suffering from Prader-Willi Syndrome, a rare genetic condition leading to extreme childhood obesity, underwent bariatric surgery at a private hospital in Chennai.

It was a first of its kind surgery performed in South India on five-year-old Mayesha Siddika, a native of Chapainawabgang, Bangladesh, by a team comprising Dr. Anirudh Rajkumar, Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgeon and Joint Managing Director of Lifeline Group of Hospitals, along with Dr. JS Rajkumar, Chairman and Chief Surgeon.
