Mirzapur, Aug. 17 -- Irate mob torched five trucks after an unidentified vehicle hit a person near Sonbarsa village on Ahaurar-Jamui road in the district, police said here on Saturday.
The mob torched five trucks after a local villager was critically injured when he was hit by an unknown vehicle late on Friday night.
Drivers and cleaners of the trucks were assaulted and their vehicles set afire.
Police had to use mild force to disperse the mob and the fire brigade doused the fire of the torched trucks.
Around six persons have been detained by police in connection with the violence.
