Aizawl, Oct. 25 -- The electoral contest for the Dampa Assembly seat is now firmly set with five candidates remaining in the field after the deadline for withdrawal of nominations expired today, according to officials from the State Chief Electoral Officer's office.
The battle for the remote constituency will see Lalhmingthanga Sailo representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), John Rotluangliana of the Indian National Congress (INC), R. Lalthangliana of the Mizo National Front (MNF), Vanlalsailova of the ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), and K. Zahmingthanga contesting on a People's Conference (PC) ticket.
