Ahilyanagar, Aug. 18 -- Five members of a family were killed in a devastating fire that engulfed a furniture shop in Niwasa Phata today. The blaze broke out around 1 am at Mayur Furniture, trapping the family asleep inside the premises.
Firefighters immediately rushed to the area after being alerted but experienced extreme difficulties in extinguishing the fire because extremely flammable materials were stocked in the shop.
Although there was intense effort to rescue the trapped family, the ferocity of the blaze inhibited the rescuers from saving the family.
The victims include shop owner Mayur Arun Rasane (45), his wife Payal Mayur Rasane (38), their two sons Ansh (10) and Chaitanya (7), and an old woman. The fire was finally brought u...
