Guwahati, May 31 -- At least five people died in Assam capital Guwahati in the past 24 hours as Incessant rain triggered landslides in different areas of the city.
Continuous rains for the last three days have also led to floods in different districts of the state and severe waterlogging in Guwahati, forcing the state government to issue red alerts in 12 districts of the state.
Officials of the Assam State Disaster Management Authority confirmed the death of five persons in Guwahati in past 24 hours and said that at least 8 revenue circles in three districts have been affected by floods.
